Gretchen Reuter is fascinated by natural beauty. It’s no surprise to those that know her that she has built a career off of surrounding herself amongst nature wonder and awe. Currently, Gretchen is the Director of Operations at Leys, Christie & Co. Originally founded in 1896, the business specializes in high-quality pearls. Gretchen’s grandfather purchased the business from one of the original owner’s grandsons, and ever since the business has thrived under the careful attention of Gretchen and her family.

For Gretchen Reuter, pearls represent the natural beauty of nature and the sentiment that things are reborn and that beauty and meaning are often found in the little things some people take for granted. Gretchen is also the President of Essential Potions, an essential oils business founded in 2017.

In addition to her professional experience, Gretchen studied Art History and received her B.A. from Hartwick College. During her time at the school, she was enveloped by the power and beauty of art. For her senior thesis, Gretchen wrote about the French carnal artist known for a variety culture-shocking works. Throughout her time at Hartwick, she noticed one component of great art that kept popping up — the wonderful arrangement of so much of the still life. Gretchen longed to possess the ability to construct and design the substance behind such beautiful art, and so she decided to attend Rittner’s School of Floral Design, located in Boston, MA.

Gretchen Reuter’s deep love for natural beauty centers around the pure joy that is found in the sunshine and the rain. Constantly longing to grow more in tune with the human experience, Gretchen manages to incorporate her passions into most of her endeavors.

Gretchen is also an impressive platform tennis player, and in 2017 she won the Scarsdale Platform Tennis Championship. She has trained under nationally ranked players such as Amy Shay, and she continues to find great joy in the spirit of the game.
